New engineers arrive with the theory and not the shaker. Technicians inherit systems nobody documented. Vendor courses teach the vendor's product. This course teaches the machine, the measurement and the judgment on whatever system your lab owns, from the engineer who services them.
Volume 1 is the machine: the shaker system, the facility and keeping both running. Volume 2 is the test: planning it, running it, checking the data and writing the report, with sine, random and shock in between. Together they give someone new to the lab what it takes to start testing, under supervision the first time. Written for the engineer new to test, the technician on the floor, the engineer who inherited the lab, and the quality or program person who signs the report. Volume 3, multi-axis testing, is for the advanced user.
Read a section, pass its open-book quiz, move on. Live figures you can move, lab kit pages you can print, questions answered under each section.
Volumes 1 and 2 are open now. $1,295 a seat per volume, $2,295 a seat for both, and the other volume at $1,095 for anyone holding a seat on one. Early access on both volumes: $895 a seat through March 31, 2027, two per lab per volume.
The online course as pre-work, then a week at your lab: targeted review in the classroom and hands-on blocks on your own machines, fixtures and data. Up to 12 attendees, in hands-on groups of 6. A tailored week covers the topics your lab needs most.
Every attendee holds a seat in the online course. Always quoted; quotes are valid 30 days.
For one or two people, an open class in Albuquerque runs the same syllabus on bench-scale shakers, from an interest list that opens a class when a month fills.
Request a WeekFor engineers straight out of school or new to test, technicians new to the lab, engineers who inherited one, and program and quality staff who write or review test requirements. Completing a volume earns a certificate of completion with a public verification page; it is not a certification and claims no continuing-education credit.
I'm a structural dynamics and vibration test consultant with an MS in mechanical engineering and twenty years running high-consequence test programs, and I service the shakers myself. KCSC is a solo practice: the person who writes the material is the person who teaches it. The course is published by KC Service and Consulting LLC as KCSC Training at kcsctraining.com; everything about it lives there.
